Teach, you label the those swings garbage above because his first move is a shift forward which causes him to push the bat... Is that correct? That's what I feel when I try to imitate it. As for the kid in gray shorts, would you make any tweaks or do you consider that particular swing to be near perfect? Comparing it to MLB hitters, seems like he leans a little further back than most. With the exception of AGonzalez, most are more stacked. How much tilt is too much?
He shifts then swings and then has a long SWEEP. There is no swing. It is amazing that either was shown as an example of quality. All they show is the stupidity of the author.
Exactly... I can't shift early like that and not sweep the bat. Cause and effect I think.
I think I understand what you are saying about tilt. Taking some more swings, feels to me that if I really focus on driving with the back leg, I can consistently drive the ball regardless of how much I tilt. When I was lazy with my back leg is when I had too steep an uppercut through the zone.
