.....IS AS BAD AS IT GETS

If you can't honestly say THAT IS A LONG SWING.....then you are ignorant.

And THAT....was TAUGHT TO HER by someone who has never played the game at any reputable level.

This....

IS THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE AMATEUR HITTERS MAKE. This MOVE BEFORE you can launch....is death against good pitching. It is the hallucination of a monitor guesser.

A professional client of mine identified it in his swing and says it is EXACTLY WHAT HE MUST STOP DOING. And when he stopped doing it he had a career year.

That move is a "move before you can launch". It is part and parcel of a TWO MOVE SWING. No high level hitter has a two move swing. This girl has to MOVE TO A NEW POSITION BEFORE SHE CAN SWING.

And that is slop. That is the definition of slop. That is exactly what a hitter can not afford to have in their swing.

Notice every swing of Cabrera or Manny or Braun or anyone else they try to use to demonstrate this nonsense, have the barrel moving in a rearward arc BEFORE there is any forward movement of the hands.

This is their DIRECT then LAUNCH nonsense. It simply is a hitter's nightmare. It is a slop move. It is a move that must be done AFTER decision but BEFORE launch. It is a move that DELAYS launch AFTER you've decided to launch. Think about that. You've decided to swing....but can't....until you reposition yourself. THAT.....is slop. If you're honest with yourself (those who have actually been in the box against good pitching....not a football player that has never played and is guessing) this can not even pass the logic test let alone the video test. Swing quickness is the answer to BOTH the fastball and the offspeed pitch. Quickness of launch means you have a longer time to read the pitch to make a better decision....BECAUSE....your launch is quick....instantaneous. An instantaneous launch is sudden. If you teach a hitter a sudden launch you've given them exactly what they need....more time. You've slowed the game down for them. You've given them more time to read and decide.....BECAUSE....their swing takes less time to launch. It is sudden. A two move launch is anything but sudden. It is slow. It is slop-filled. It means you can not launch unless you move to new position first. What if you can learn to get to that position FIRST.....so that you can launch without that extra move? This 'direct then launch' nonsense means you have to move into alignment before you can launch. A good swing is ALWAYS in alignment. The decision never includes "well, I've got to get lined up first, then swing".....it is simply...."swing".....BECAUSE....a high level swing can be launched to any location from it's original handset. Adjustments are made 'on the fly'....on the way there....NOT BEFORE YOU LAUNCH.

Which brings us right back to the main point which is.....the predominance of ignorance on the internet is extremely high. Anyone who takes advice from someone who has never played and refuses to show video of their work.....gets what they deserve.

The daughter, however, does not deserve what she's getting. This girl will NEVER come close to reaching her potential unless/until she abandons this nonsense. Mark my words.
