NEITHER SIDE....Can Frame The "Where Is The Weight Issue" Properly
Yes it is. Do you not "see" that foot moving away from the camera? Do you not "see" the knee and hip extending? You can say many things about this drill but the front leg "not doing a thing" is not one of them IMO
Is there any doubt now....that Noon is a Monitor Guesser? And has never swung to duplicate?
Will someone tell him that the pelvis is a fused bone, that includes BOTH hip sockets. And if there is movement of the pelvis in one hip socket the other hip socket will move also. And therefore the leg that goes with the second socket wil move also.
Amazing ignorance is rampant at DFP.
Couple that with a desire to prove a theory that can not be supported by video (BB/A$$) and you get the spread of nonsense.
As STUPID as that comment is....and regardless if there is any lead leg movement caused by the lead leg....the issue has always been....
WHERE IS THE ENGINE? HOW MANY ENGINES ARE THERE?
Until they swing to duplicate they will never understand the cause and effect. They will never understand that something else is doing what they see. They continually misidentify the ENGINE because they won't swing in such a way to duplicate ALL of the swing. They try to emulate the lower body without the upper. Or vice versa.
Buttforherface continually posts clips of the lower body only. He refuses to post the full clip....because it is a fact that, in the clips he posts, the barrel path will not match high level. It can't. It's impossible while doing what he is showing with the lower body. Why? Because even though the LOOK is close, anyone who has swung to duplciate KNOWS that the engine is wrong. There are two of them instead of one in his clips.
What is the hitter doing and where is he doing it can only be verified by swinging to duplcate. And when you swing to duplicate you will find there is only one lower body engine. Otherwise, you will never match the high level barrel path.
There is only one lower body engine and it is found in the rear hip/leg. Any other movement is a direct result of the rear leg engine's power creation movement. Meaning....if the lead leg moves it is not done as an engine to create power or to help create power. It is simply an involuntary movement, in response to the power engine's resulting movement, to provide balance.
The problem with this drill is it's direction. Lotief is having the girl's work on their barrel turn and their one-leggedness....BUT....they are all pushing the barrel....because their direction is bad. They are attacking the ball from the wrong angle. And therefore they are mostly rotating their shoulders as they turn the barrel instead of resisting with them. they may have a lateral tilt look....but they are not providing/creating any resistance with them. Until they attack at the right angle and unload INTO their load, they will always push the barrel. He is a former member of this site. He got much of what he teaches here. But....like so many....he is missing a very important element.....the shoulder resistance.
My original document on what is called the Second Engine....had three elements. The barrel turn, the triangle turn, and the shoulder lateral tilt. Without the shoulder lateral tilt, which is actually the torso tilting over/behind/around the ball of the rear femur, you will always push the barrel. The rearward nature of the shoulder lateral tilt is what allows a hitter to unload INTO the load instead of AWAY FROM the load. Why would you load and then push out of the load? That is what you see these girl's doing. To get the power and snappiness out of your load....you need to unload INTO the load...otherwise you are bleeding the load....you are pushing the barrel.
Using the weight of the barrel and it's rearward direction, from one weighted leg is the ONLY WAY to the high level pattern. The details are very important.
Even so....with part of the high level pattern....his girls out hit the most all DI teams.
NOON's commnet....another implosion.
