Step One For New Members

If you are reading this, you are in the main forum....where all the good discussion and exchange of ideas occurs.

Instructional threads are 'stickied' to the top of this forum page in an effort to get new members to see the work that gets done here. There are 5 different threads of a dad and his kid, going through the HittingIllustrated process. They are quite instructional. I think you'll be impressed with what you see. The kid's progress is amazing. One of them is now a D1 player who chose college after being drafted. Another is a DII college player. A third is his brother who is now in high school. The fourth is a current high school freshman. And the fifth is my son who is now out of college and playing amateur fastpitch softball. Take a look. The terminology is likely to confuse you at first. But do your best to understand.

Then, there is another forum titled The Second Engine, found just below this one on the main page, which consists of 18 threads that have been chosen as 'good reads' for new members to get 'up to snuff' on what is taught here.

It is my recommendation that you spend your first hour or so in that forum reading those threads. Then, come here to ask questions. We love it when clips of hitters are posted.

And here is a link to an Instructional Starter Pak. It has the basic information. There are many details that go with each step that are too cumbersome to put in the Pak.

MAKE THE BEST USE OF YOUR TRIAL PERIOD
POST A CLIP OF YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER
I'LL GIVE YOU AN ANALYSIS AND A RECOMMENDATION.

If I were you, I'd concentrate on figuring out what the Hand Pivot Point and what the Rear Hip Pivot Point are....and how they are synced together to create the high level swing.

Welcome.

This is his call above. Says so every time he post. But is he?

In my opinion, many of BM’s assertions are based on data, suggesting to me that he is indeed seeking truth. The reader is free to refute or accept his conclusions, and since he is a data-centric individual, it becomes clear why his beliefs are what they are.

Notice that BM will occasionally add “IMO” comments to his posts. I consider this a nice touch as it acknowledges that the particular content of his post doesn’t have as much supporting evidence. I happen to respect his ready willingness to differentiate between opinion and hard-supported-beliefs.

I may not always agree with him, but I do respect his data-centric postings and differentiation between an opinion and what he believes to be factual.

In any event, he does cause readers such as myself to look at the material in more depth, and for this I am appreciative.

        The problem is

Who has enough knowledge to determine what is data-centric?

The only ones I know are those that frequent here.

The analysis he posted of Cabrerra is one of the worst analyses I've ever seen.

If you slow video down enough you can conclude whatever you wish.

HE doesn't even understand the data. Yet, he makes conclusions and leads others to believe them.

          GroundUp,

Post clips of your students arcing the barrel rearward without the use of the hands.

          Pronk,Stealth, et al,

Ask BM for a clip of himself arcing the barrel rearward without the use of the hands.

I GUARANTEE they can't do it and that is why there are no clips. There never are. There never will be.

          Just more pontification.

          Over and over and over.

P.S. BM has alluded to "humerous movement" that creates that rearward barrel path....or the circling. Let him go there. Please. Oh pretty please.

Oh please brer rabbit. Don't throw me in the briar patch.
