  • Stretch N Fire Drill



    This drill promotes the proper separation that a hitter must achieve to hit in the high level pattern. The rear hip loads rearward against a rock solid rear leg whose knee is trying to go down and in. A 'tug of war' results between the rear hip and the rear leg. You should feel stretch in your buttocks and in and around the rear thigh.

    A high level swing is 'released'....not swung. This drill promotes the 'feel' that is going on underneath the uniform....the stretch.....the separation that is necessary for the sudden release of the barrel into the ball. Therefore it is named 'Stretch N Fire'.
