  • New Camwood Bat Thread

What we tried to do -- Take speed and quickness to launching or turning the heavy Camwood bat. In the top clip we practiced stop swings with a swift stick and the would try to mimic the speed with the Camwood. The first and second clips are something teach had us do this past season where we coil the hip then load the top a little more the make sure the bats not flat then SnF, help my son a ton with lead arm extention. The bottom clip is a regular swing. I would like him to blur this bat at launch like he does his game bat.

Not quite the results we were lookin for but not bad.

Not bad Shumro, I feel like in the last swing, he might be cutting off the deeper coil he can find. He basically doesn't quite get it as far as he does in the drill swing.

The thing is I feel like in the full swing he's loading his quad. As Tewks and I think Teach mentioned you don't want to scrunch onto the knee. Try this simple exercise.

Load the quad....Feel a good knee scrunch load....
While maintaining that, turn the hip back.

Now get off the quad, and do the same thing...

I feel the hip has greater ranger of motion to load around when I do that.
