Step One For New Members

If you are reading this, you are in the main forum....where all the good discussion and exchange of ideas occurs.

Instructional threads are 'stickied' to the top of this forum page in an effort to get new members to see the work that gets done here. There are 5 different threads of a dad and his kid, going through the HittingIllustrated process. They are quite instructional. I think you'll be impressed with what you see. The kid's progress is amazing. One of them is now a D1 player who chose college after being drafted. Another is a DII college player. A third is his brother who is now in high school. The fourth is a current high school freshman. And the fifth is my son who is now out of college and playing amateur fastpitch softball. Take a look. The terminology is likely to confuse you at first. But do your best to understand.

Then, there is another forum titled The Second Engine, found just below this one on the main page, which consists of 18 threads that have been chosen as 'good reads' for new members to get 'up to snuff' on what is taught here.

It is my recommendation that you spend your first hour or so in that forum reading those threads. Then, come here to ask questions. We love it when clips of hitters are posted.

And here is a link to an Instructional Starter Pak. It has the basic information. There are many details that go with each step that are too cumbersome to put in the Pak.

I'LL GIVE YOU AN ANALYSIS AND A RECOMMENDATION.

If I were you, I'd concentrate on figuring out what the Hand Pivot Point and what the Rear Hip Pivot Point are....and how they are synced together to create the high level swing.

You made a very good decision. A few years ago my son and I made the same choice you just made....to get better at hitting a baseball/softball. We used the internet to get our information. We set up a basement hitting lab for our workouts. It consisted of a Jugs net, a Tee, a Personal Pitcher, a Hands Back Hitter, and, most important.......the Video Camera.

My son had played all through little league. But, at the time, I was busy building a business so my time was limited. And, unfortunately, I never got him connected to a good team that had quality instruction. So, as he entered high school, he was a good fielder who couldn't hit. I am not exaggerating much when I say he couldn't hit a ball off a tee.

To make a long story short, we worked very hard at it and he hit .400 his senior year and is battling for a spot on his college team. He still has much to learn. But, he got "up to snuff" because of the information we found over the internet, combined with a few tools, and a good work ethic. Since we have "been there and done that", it is our goal to help others do the same.

We will not charge for any information on how to hit. Ask a question...we will give you our best answer...no charge. We claim no intellectual property. We didn't invent this stuff. What we did is learn how to put it into an understandable system that works. We've "organized" it and we hope to "organize" you so that your learning curve is short.

While the information is free, some tools are necessary to create a workout system that gives you the best return for the time invested. The most important is the video camera and the ability to post clips on the internet. Your subscription takes care of the ability to post clips. We assume you already have a camera. As for the other products, we ask that you browse the site and look at the tools offered. If you see something you like, and are happy with what you read, please support this venture by purchasing them from us.
